  • How can I get AAFCP continuing education contact hours?

AAFCP continuing education contact hours may be obtained by attending an AAFCP Annual Meeting, attending or watching pre-recorded AAFCP webinars, listening to pre-recorded AAFCP Annual Meeting recordings, reading chapters of The Medical & Surgical Practice of NaProTECHNOLOGY textbook by Dr. Thomas Hilgers, attending staff meetings that include proper CrMS-related continuing education, and other AAFCP-approved meetings or programs.

See the appropriate Application and Standards for Certification for further details.
    These can be found at:

  • Are AAFCP Continuing Education Contact Hours the same as a Nursing Contact Hours or Continuing Medical Education (CME) Contact Hours?

No, AAFCP contact hours are separate from other types of contact hours, though some events may earn both AAFCP contact hours as well as other forms of continuing education contact hours. Separate certificates will be awarded to attendees at AAFCP continuing education opportunities for each form of appropriate contact hours earned when applicable.

The AAFCP does apply for CME contact hours for physicians for live attendance of our Annual Meeting. Please see advertisement for the AAFCP Annual Meeting for further details.

The AAFCP is a provider of nursing contact hours (Iowa Board of Nursing Provider no. 382). Please see advertisement for live attendance of an AAFCP continuing education opportunity for further information on earning nursing contact hours. Contact hours are only awarded to nurses who attend an entire live event/day of continuing education opportunities and complete the required documentation

  • How can I access previously recorded AAFCP webinars?

Previously recorded webinars are available to all current AAFCP members (all dues/fees must be paid for that current calendar year).

Webinars can be found in the AAFCP Members Portal Video Library. Log in to your Members Portal to access these videos. https://aafcp.member365.com/sharingnetwork/education/videolibrary

  • Who can attend an AAFCP Webinar?

Webinars are available for those with a current AAFCP membership (all dues/fees must be paid for that current calendar year). Members of all levels are able to attend webinars.

  • How do I know if my staff meetings count towards continuing education? And how do I document this in application for contact hours?

For a Staff Meeting to count towards continuing education contact hours, a case presentation, review of CrM teaching practice, review of Annual Meeting materials or similar continuing education must be included in the meeting. To document proof of attended Staff Meeting Minutes (listing attendees), and/or a sign in sheet and agenda must be provided to the AAFCP Chair of Continuing Education. After review by the Chair of Continuing Education, contact hours may be awarded for staff meeting attended; Chair will contact you with approval or reason for denial for these contact hours.

  • If I read a book related to NFP does that count towards continuing education contact hours?

While there are many good resources and books available that do provide pertinent information to FertilityCare Professionals, aside from reading chapters of the Medical and Surgical Practices of NaProTECHNOLOGY Textbook, there are no other reading activities currently that can be used for AAFCP Continuing Education Contact Hours

  • I attended an event that talked about NFP or related topics, can this count towards continuing education contact hours?

Events that are formed for the general public, can offer great information, however, as they are not formulated for the purpose of updating or expanding the knowledge base of the FertilityCare Professional and do not count towards continuing education contact hours.
